Thank you for helping to expose the disgustingly rampant amount of corruption from the SLTPD.I myself have been a victim of officers who have made the choice to abuse the power that we,the people,have entrusted them with.I have had to withstand a violation of my 4th Ammendment rights,which landed me on Felony Probation.I have been felt up by male officers(I’m female,which means that,by law,a male officer cannot search my body)who failed to call for a female officer to perform a search of my person,and dragged me away from view of my boyfriend(who was obviously present at the time)and away from view of the dash-cams in the squad cars before doing so.Another officer(ElDorado County Sheriff to be more specific)pulled over my boyfriend while he was transporting me and another friend of his.They apparently found(or just as likely planted)drugs underneath my seat.By law they were suppossed to arrest everyone in the car,since nobody took the blame for it.Particularly my boyfriend,as he had failed the field sobriety test(or so they claim he did)and had 2 warrants for his arrest at the time.Instead,they arrested only me,claiming that,because it was under my seat,it must be mine.Then they placed me in the backseat of the last of 3 squad cars(where I wouldn’t be in view of any cameras)and slammed my ankle in the car door.Thet later claimed that I’d been limping from the moment I exited my boyfriend’s car,therefore they believed that it was my boyfriend who’d caused the injury.They refused to bring me to the hospital until I “stopped lying about who had injured my ankle”.Instead,the Jailhouse nurse looked at it and decided that I was fine.This was 4 weeks ago,and I’m still walking with a slight limp.When I demanded a Urine Anaylisis test in the jail to prove that I wasn’t using illegal drugs,they dropped that charge and charged me with a Felony for having my presciption painkillers in an unlabled bottle(which is usually an Infracion,and at worst,a Misdemenor).I’ve also been told that they are never going to return the medications to me.I still haven’t been able to get any of my personal belongings(including such important items as my housekeys,wallet with money and social seccard etc…MP3 Player,cellphone an so on…)released from “Evidence”.I’ve brought ample evidence that the pills were my legal presciption,but they are still charging me with a felony.
It seems that there’s no way to stop this outragouse abuse without being able to afford a private attorny,which I cannot.So you can see why I am so pleased to see that someone is at least aclling them out on these horrific violations of the Civil Rights of the citizens of South Lake Tahoe.Thank you for listening.
