Sheiff boat sinks in tahoe

INCLINE VILLAGE, Nev. (MyNews4.com & KRNV) — Washoe County deputies are looking into what could have possibly caused one of the agency’s boats, the Marine 10, to sink off shore in Lake Tahoe. 

Authorities discovered the boat sank when they checked on it Thursday morning. Officials say Marine 10, along with Marine 20, is usually stationed in Pyramid Lake, but was moved to the north shore and tied to a buoy after a previous agency boat sank off shore in late May.

According to Public Information Officer Bob Harmon, the boat is hooked up to a trailer at night, but since the trailer is undergoing maintenance, Marine 10 was left in the water overnight.

WCSO has three boats, Marine 9, Marine 10 and Marine 20. Marine 9 and 10 are both 15-year-old boats.

The Sheriff’s Office is getting estimates on the two boats to see if they are worth repairing…
